Even though I'm in the middle of a block of seminars (last week Medical Hypnosis, next week psychooncology), it should not remain unstated that today is a special day, because:
Heute vor genau einem Jahr sind unsere beiden wunderbaren Puscheltiger bei uns eingezogen! Und zur Feier des Tages gibt es ordentlich was auf die Augen:

Zwei absolute Traumkatzen, die uns jeden Tag Freude bereiten.
Two dream cats who bring joy to our lives every day.
Jana zum Beispiel hilft mir beim Lernen:

Während Dodo mal wieder ein Kardenvlies erlegt:
While Dodo subdues another carded fleece:
Oder in seiner Inkarnation als "Dämon des Rascheltunnels" die Welt der Sterblichen im Auge behält
Or keeps an eye on the mortal world in his incarnation as "Demon of the Rustle Tunnel"
Beim Fischefüttern sind sie dann beide zur Stelle
Then when the time comes to feed the fish both of them stand to attention
Und auch sonst läuft das Leben größtenteils harmonisch.
Life in general is pretty harmonic.
Spielzeug kann man teilen
Toys can be shared
bei Kartons wechselt man sich ab
With boxes you can take turns
Und wenn es doch mal Krach gibt
And when there is dispute
Ist er meistens kurz darauf wieder vergessen:
it's usually forgotten as quickly as it started:
Und obwohl die beiden aus einem wunderbar liebevollen Zuhause gekommen sind, hoffen wir doch, dass sie bei und mindestens genauso glücklich sind und freuen uns auf unser zweites Jahr als Dosenöffner :-)
And even though the two of them came to us from a wonderfully loving home, we hope that they are just as happy with us and we're looking forward to our second year as can-openers :-)
