Jaspis / Jasper

Um mich daran zu erinnern, dass außer dem Spinnen noch anderes im Leben gibt, habe ich mich mal wieder an die Perlen gemacht. Dabei habe ich mir diesmal eine Jaspis-Mischung in verschiedenen Rot-, Braun- und Gelbtönen ausgesucht. Die habe ich dann versucht, mit Rocailles zu ergänzen.

To remind me that there is more to life than spinning, I once again sat down to do some bead work. This time I chose a mixture of jasper in different hues of red, brown and yellow. This I tried to complement with some seed beads.

Ich bin noch nicht ganz sicher, was ich davon halten soll. Die Farbtöne passen nicht so zusammen, wie ich mir das erhofft hatte und die Kette wirkt nicht so harmonisch wie die anderen. Aber andererseits wirkt sie durch die Unregelmäßigkeit auch interessant und spricht mich irgendwie doch an. Mal sehen, ob sie mir mit der Zeit besser gefällt oder ob ich entscheide, sie wieder auseinander zu nehmen.

I'm not sure yet what to think of it. The different hues don't fit together as well as I'd hoped and the necklace doesn't appear as harmonic as the others. But on the other hand the irregularities do make it interesting to look at and it does speak to me in some way. I'll just have to wait and see whether I start liking it more or whether I decide to take it apart.
