Spitzenwinter / Winter of Lace

Nein, es geht mir nicht darum, dass der Winter spitze wird - ich bin generell gegen den Winter, egal wie er sich präsentiert. Worum es hier geht ist die Aktion Winter of Lace oder auch Winter der Spitze, eine Art Mit-Strick-Aktion, bei der jeder und jede soviel Spitze stricken darf, wie nur geht.

Finally it has begun: The Winter of Lace, where each and every knitter may knit as much lace as they can stomach.

Und das nehme ich zum Anlass, mich nun endlich auch mal an dieser Technik zu versuchen. Ich hatte es ja schon lange vor, und wie sich vielleicht jemand erinnert, habe ich mir auch schon das entsprechende Garn zurechtgesponnen. Letzten Sonntag war dann offizieller Winteranfang und damit auch Beginn des Spitzenwinters. Und so ging es bei mir los:

For me that means finally making a try at this technique. I've been looking forward to it for a while, and as someone or other may remember, I've already spun up the yarn for it. Last Sunday was officially the first day of winter and with that also the beginning of the Winter of Lace. And this is how it started for me:


Vier Farben selbstgesponnenes feines Spitzengarn. Vier Farben Perlen, die mit selbigem Garn verstrickt werden möchten. Ein selbst entworfenes Strickmuster, das mit dem Übergang zur nächsten Farbe erweitert werden wird. Und natürlich Zubehör.

Four colours of handspun laceweight. Four colours of beads to be knitted along with the yarn. A self-designed pattern, which will change every time I get to the next colour. And of course the accessories.

Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie das wird. Und da es ja Teil dieser Aktion ist, sich gegenseitig über den Fortschritt auf dem Laufenden zu halten, werde ich sowohl hier als auch im Winter of Lace Blog regelmäßig Bericht erstatten :-)
